The owner of my loan horse has offered to sell her to me, but has asked my opinion as to her value. I don't know where to start as to me, she's priceless! Any advice would be gratefully received.
16hh black cob mare, 7yo, no papers, green, not a novice ride, slightly psychotic, can't canter, loves bucking, itchy, but very good looking and I love her!
Thanx. I know that a dealer would be unlikely to offer more than £500, and would probably end up with her being sent back. That's the problem with these beasts though, you bring them on and work on their 'little issues', fall in love and then can't part with them!
Keep it coming down! I like this sort of negotiating! I strongly suspect that her tack is worth more than her! If I do decide to buy her, the long term plan will be to put her in foal.....and have some boooooootiful babies.

Thats ridiculous! Never ever breed from anything that doesn't have a good temperament. There are too many foals being bred from unproven and insane mares, and without papers. Sorry, not trying to have a go, but think about this carefully.
How long have you had her on loan? has she progressed while shes been with you? If the owner cares for her futures she'd put a very minimal price on her head. £500
Had her since Nov 06, with a further 6.5 months to run on our contract. Yes she has progressed considerably, from being left in a field, unridden, on her own for 14 months, she is now socialised with manners and is ridden out, albeit with a healthy respect for her power, and is working hard on her flatwork.
