van conversion horsebox... sleeping 2 people?

Hi,

my company builds van conversion horseboxes, and we have been thinking about the idea of making it sleep 2 people.obviously for occasional use but seen as more shows are hold summer qualifers. I thought it would be a good idea to make it sleep 2 people. Im not talking about luxury, but some where to get your head down after a hard day

so i was thinking about making the partition so a plywood piece can unattach and drop down to make a waist height bunk bed (on either side of the partition) 6ft long, and 3ft wide....would you mind sleeping above where the horse goes...and poos!!!(ekkk). i know many people who camp in there trailers.

so what are peoples views on this?

at the moment its only a thought. so its a bit o' marketing really!
 
I've been looking at vans - only have 1 pony so don't need a lorry - but stay away couple of times a year & was thinking if I did get one if I could make some kind of sleeping arrangement in it. I think it could be a fab idea! The vans I've seen have a tack/seating area at the back & I wondered if that could be made into a bed the same as a caravan seat does??!
 
I would have been in the market for that van when I still travelled overnight. I think it's a great idea. I have suggested to people on other threads that they sleep in the horse area on a camping mat, because the horse will be in a stable overnight. You'll need to provide storage for the bedding, don't forget. I have a friend who did Badminton four times sleeping on a camping mat in the back of her trailer.
 
A pal from South Africa says that its mostly trailors out there that have fold up bunks style in them. TBH I can count on one hand how many occasions during the season I would like to stay over at a show , and since in our sport its 90% ran from Show centres with toilets and food and beverage etc I really question the requirement for living now. I do however think that the Van conversions would work really well with tow bars, therefore for the very few occasions you would want to stay over you can take a caravan. Plus you could turn a van horsebox which would be stalled for 2 into a 4 stall if towing a horse trailor.

I think with so much stuff you take to shows with rugs and tack, buckets etc any spare space in a van lorry could be shelfed for storage. Just my opinion mate.
