Which is suitable to add into feed for extra cheap calories?? Or is it neither

I used to give three glugs of veggie oil per feed - a millions time cheaper than sunflower oil, especially if you know someone who has a cash and carry permit and can buy 'chip shop' size tubs!!

Hiya everyone just a quick question when you say put a mug full in every day is that meant for a horse that has a lot of concentrates? My horses are at grass in the day and in the evening when they come in they have hay and about half a scoop of paddock mix ( has molasses already in but I usually put a glug in extra) plus some carrots and maybe other root veg and/or an apple/pear etc.
Both are not worked much and I would say are more like happy hackers at the moment as I have no where at the yard to school and with the weather being crap and time constraints I have not been out on my lad much and my daughter went out on hers ( I led) yesterday for the first time since we had him as there were problems we had to address first.
Sorry for the long explanation I just wanted to explain what feed they have already and their workload.
Any tips on how much to give would be appreciated. I would much rather give less than too much in case it caused any digestion problems.
Oh forgot to add they also both have a small scoop ( one in tub already) of codlivine usually a couple of days a week and not more than twice a week.

Just to confuse things further my lot are on curragh carron oil at the moment and they look really well on it, they get about 50-100 ml daily depending on their size.
re cazee, I think its fine for them if they're on concentrates or not, I use it on both my horses who are in hard work and are getting a fair amount of hard feed and on the ponies who are on very little hard feed. I think its a source of slow releasing energy so is suitable for horses who hot up or are prone to putting on weight, however I think it should be fed along with a vit/mineral sourse as it can be low in vit E? I usually give the ponies 50 ml and the horses 100ml.

I use vegetable oil (which is actually rapeseed oil). It is very cheap but I also have also read that it actually has a better balance of Omega 3s and Omega 6s than sunflower or corn oil.
