Are vented air hats worth the extra money (over a standard riding hat)?
There's nothing wrong with my current hat (Charles Owen young rider) it fits well and I've never dropped it/fell on it but I just get a very hot sweaty head after riding, particularly after a lesson.

I tried the Champion, Harry Hall and Just Togs vented hats first with them being cheaper but typically they didn't fit my head, whereas the Charles Owen Ayr8 fitted perfectly. I don't mind spending the extra money on it to protect my noggin if I fall off, but only if it's worth it and does make a difference with the air vents.
Anyone got one of these, any feedback?
Also, are they ok to do low level, unaffiliated showing/dressage in (I'm assuming ok for sj as that's the target market from what I can tell!) should I ever get round to doing any?
Thanks

I got a vented hat for my son, its the best thing Ive got him, he has not had hot sweaty head since, He has a LAS brand one, its bright blue, and we got it at HOYS in october it was £120 though

I have just bought a Champion Ventair hat. My skull cap was horrible because I get too hot when I have a lesson. It is very light and it seems to work, my head does not get so hot. I was very concerned the rain would find it's way in, but I did not get wet this weekend and we had terrible weather.

I have a Charles Owen for my dressage but for hacking out and schooling I have the vented Harry Hall and I think it makes a difference

Ok, think you've persuaded me, if they do the job I don't mind shelling out £115 (luckily local tack shop is one of the cheaper stockists for them- have seen them up to £150!)
Now, Santa, I have been a good girl this year and I would like a Charles Owen Ayr 8 riding hat please?
