Hiya I have a mare that has just been diagnosed with copd I have some ventipulmin syrup which says give 4 pumps twice a day, but how long shall I do this for? Until I run out, until sh'e better or a couple of weeks?

Hi there. Ventipulmin can be used in the long term I believe. This is something that you will need to liaise with you vet over as it is prescription only medication. I had an old horse with copd that was on it all the time. I used to get in a panic if I was running out! Good luck and hope your mare fares well x

I have used it and I stop after they stop coughing and keep it in case I need it again . I believe it is not competition legal.
