My horse is always catching himself on his hind pastern, he has a pastern wrap on most of the time in the field except when I take it off to try out if its been really wet/hot and hes got sweaty. Obviously he cant have it on all the time (inc riding) which is when he needs it as well. When its off Ive been putting an over reach boot on the opposite hind leg to try and prevent him catching it. Ive been loooking at these boots and the piaffe shield boots and wondered if they would do the job and if anyone has had any experiences with either of them?

Thanks

\they would probhably do the job. I have a pair and they are fab but they are mainly rubber so would still get a bit hot. \they are about £100 though. You can get non rubber overreach boots that don't turn that cover the pastern area, I think the Mark Todd ones are good for that. They are only £12 or so.

I use the piaffe and the overreach to turn my young dressage horse out in as he is always catching him self. They do not seem to rub him and yes they are expensive but the number of other boots I have been through are too long to list. They have also changed the desgin of the piaffe boots and re sized the overreach boots . Make sure you do not buy the old stock.Pm me if you want more info in changes.
