Otto has had a rather stressful past few weeks, firstly I went to Burgie for a week so he was left in the capable

hands of my OH, then I had been back a few days when it was time for OH and I to go away again, this time to Turkey, so Otto was packed off to my Parent's house.
His possesiveness is no better after his castration, so he lives in the kennel at my Parent's house, which he was very happy with as it is rather luxurious!
Then we came back for a week, before going away yet again! This time with Otto in tow

This weekend we visited OH's Parents in Anglesey, which meant Otto got to go to the BEACH
grin.gif

He is now absolutely shattered after going for lots of long walks on Sat and Sun. He was such a very good boy and must have covered at least ten times the mileage we did, especially when he decided that a Seagull was far too tempting and followed it the complete length of the beach again!!!
His recall improves everytime you call him (as long as there are no low flying seagulls!!), he is a complete saint with strange dogs and people and his heelwork off the lead is almost perfect

So now, as it's been a while, photos!

At the "Grandparent's"...

My Mum's beautiful Cocker Ruriach, who is the world's best behaved dog and Otto's arch nemisis!!

At the park....

"Aren't I handsome??"

"This is my best side"

At the beach...

"Can I go??"
Photo0383.jpg

"You sure??"
Photo0382.jpg

"I will get that bloody seagull!!"
Photo0386.jpg

(I love that ^^ Pic!!

)

"Hmmm, can I eat seaweed??"

And one of the Kite Surfers who were amazing and clearly bonkers!! I think Otto had secret aspirations to be a Surfer Dog, as he was intent on saying hello to them
grin.gif
They must have liked him, as they didn't do the usual, look horrifed at the sight of a wet sandy spaniel zoning in at 90mph with a silly grin on it's face, that most people do

And finally, Otto with his newest toy...

OH's Parent's bought him a Cockerel that crows when you squeeze it's tummy.... if I hear the dam thing go off one more time I will rip the ruddy voice box out of it!!

Thanks for looking

Everybody loves Roo, except Otto! He was born perfectly trained I'm sure (although my Mum may have done a bit of work with him
smirk.gif
) and he is a complete softy! Plus he is very handsome
grin.gif

Otto had a great weekend, but he is exhausted! He slept all the way home (4 hours), slept as soon as he got home and hasn't really woken up since!!
grin.gif

Now the kite surfers would have been way to tempting for Evie, which is why her first visit to the beach involved a long line
tongue.gif
She has a real problem with her ears when she sees interesting things like that, they just seem to fill with cotton wool, poor dog
grin.gif
Sounds like Otto had a great time, and I am very impressed with perfect off lead heel work, need to have about a pound of liver in my hand for Evil one to be perfect, otherwise she drifts along about a foot away from me, looking for bunnies.

And they say cockers are a challenge
tongue.gif

Does your mum fancy taking on a little yellow lab for a while for a bit of training?
grin.gif
If she could perfect her water retrieval that would be fab
wink.gif

Don't mention the L word to my Mum
shocked.gif
The very idea of having to train one might tip her over the edge
tongue.gif
grin.gif

I think the Cockers are easier than Springers, but not 100% sure, I just know that when I told my Dad I wanted a Springer he told me I was mad
grin.gif
Only the eldest Cocker has been any trouble and that is only because he is soooo good at his job, he knows best
grin.gif

The old boys always know best, just like my Windsor
wink.gif

Boy up the road from me has a lovely wee cocker bitch. Bought her fully trained from some boyo in Wales, don't even want to think what it cost as he assures me it is of very good breeding!

How's Otto's tail doing?

Ahhh, selective deafness, yes Otto suffers from that, however there was water inbetween him and the surfers, no way was he going to cross that!!
grin.gif

And when I say perfect heelwork, I mean perfect for a Springer Spaniel suffering from ADHD and Ants-In-Your-Pants syndrome

Blimey that must have cost a fortune!!
shocked.gif
Mum's eldest one is very well bred and she was offered a lot for him at one point (he wasn't even fully trained) so I daren't think what they paid for that one!!

glad he is enjoying life again! So his tail is better now?

[/ QUOTE ]

It can still bug him occasionally, and sometimes it will bleed, but as long as we keep on top of it with spraying it and wrapping it, it is ok.
He doesn't need to have it wrapped on walks now, and he doesn't chew it anymore, so fingers crossed it is on it's way to being perfectly normal again!

Of course why didn't I think of that, Evie has ADHD, she is not naughty at all. Unfortunately water would not be a deterrent to her, she was very keen on going to say hello to someone quite a long way out in a boat when we were at the beach, thought I was going with her at one point, wasn't ready for her and she got quite a bit of speed up at end of line.
laugh.gif

Yup, it's not their fault they have these "moments"
grin.gif

Otto is getting braver at going in the water, he will come in with me, but there was no way I was swimming in that water, it was cold!
grin.gif

He was actually very brave, considering on the way down to the beach he had launched himself into the river, thinking it was shallow and had completely gone under the water
grin.gif

He also launched himself off a sand dune and completely stacked it
grin.gif
ended up going nose first into the sand and was covered in sand
grin.gif

Hooray you're back! Was getting Otto withdrawal symptoms!

Glad to hear Otto is getting better with the water (and that Henry is not the only dog that gets Intermitant Sudden Onset Deafness when he sees something exciting Murphys Minder!)
