Now it's official I can share with you all!

At the end of next month I get my old boy back for his retirement!!! YAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!! He is being officially retired from the RDA and recieving a Lifetime Achievement award for his 10 years of service and then he and Hector will both come to Newmarket and I'll look after him like a King till his very last day!! This horse means the absolute world to me! He just rocks! He can be the cheekiest and stubbornest of buggers, but he can also instill such confidence and pride. It brings a tear to my eye when I think of the stories that I have been told about the lives he has touched as an RDA ride and drive horse - this the horse that I couldn't hold one side of on the beach throughout my teenage years!

Some of you may remember some of these pics of him.

Absolutely over the moon!!! It broke my heart selling him, but knew he was going to a fabulous home and that he'd make a difference! He's been National Champion once (maybe twice, I've forgotten

) at the RDA National Champs at Hartpury - only in like a dressage test in walk (can't remember the level of rider on him - don't think I ever knew tbth).

He's 22/23 or maybe even 24 this year - nobody really knows. I was given him for my 11th birthday, when he was supposed to be 6 rising 7, but was told by the EDT when I was 18, that he was 10/11, maybe 12........ 15hh and WIDE!! At college he even had a special rhyme made up for him by my course mates - bear in mind, I fully clipped him and often hogged him too and that his feet belong on a 17.2hh hunter, and he has exceedingly large nostrils! But the rhyme goes like this "Bald Berry big nose, he has great big toes, short, fat and round and close to the ground!" How mad is that, that I can remember that after 11yrs!!

Do you mean the hideously out of control ones? Notice that I only had a semblance of control whilst pointing towards the sea

So you'll have him, and Hector, and B? Quite a horsey family to care for!

He is lovely! Is he going to be totally retired, or will you be riding him still?

When I am light enough - which should be soon - I will ride him, but only hacking, though I may do a few veteran classes with him! IF/when Hector is sold, then Berry will go to live with my Mum in Cornwall and be her hack.

ETS - As he is broken to drive, I may rig up somekind of little cart to attach him to for poo picking purposes

How wonderful of you to ensure he has a long and happy retirement! The most wonderful gift we can give any horse IMO!

Your boy certainly deserves his too by the sound of it
