Well, after 3 weeks (which I know is not long in terms of how bad it can be, and is for some people on here
) of not being able to ride due to horse's bad back, then lameness (and box rest/restricted turnout..) then lack of a saddle which fitted, I got a new (well, second hand!) saddle fitted today by a Master Saddler.
It's an older Albion K2 and is a gorgeous chestnutty dark brown, I love it
I also got brand new stirrup leathers and irons, and a lovely leather girth!!
I am sooo grateful to my mum, and feel very lucky! Then again she is still pleased about my GCSE results earlier this so it wasn't entirely random and out of the blue
but still!
C was very happy to be ridden again (though weve both been enjoying loose schooling and jumping whilst without a saddle
) and showed his exuberance by having a bucking fit on the way up to the arena, and a few excited squeals to the horse in the paddock next to us
Had to assure saddler that it was not pain related (no ears back or discomfort!) just him being a fool
Settled down after a few mins and was very good considering it was raining cats n dogs.
Saddler was fab and spent ages ensuring saddle was correctly flocked to compensate for C's slightly less built up right side (ex racer).
So excited about heading round the tracks on my boy tomorrow!!
What's everyone else got planned for their Bank hols with their horses?
