Took him jumping at hartbury, the 80cm was a bit of a diasaster again he just doesn't seem to jump that height well at all. I think I don't ride well enough into it because its little and it shows onto him. We only had one pole but we were lucky not to have every fence! :p

The 90cm went a lot better he was very smooth listened to me when I said woah he slowed and when I said go he went, even though the first jump was quite horrible! He came 2nd in the 90 and we qualified for the hartbury showjumping championships!

I don't know what to do now though should I stop doing the 80 and go straight to 90? On sunday we did the same had a rough 80 yet an amazing 90?

Thanks for any help given etc, we also have very pretty blue rossette :D

Well done! Glad to hear he is going better. :)

I think it might be a good idea for you to start starting at 90 cm. I too find that I tend to ride better when the fences are bigger. Is there a 1m you could enter? Then you could warm up with 90cm and the 1m would be more of a challenge and something to work on. Just an idea. Well done for qualifying though! :)

Very well done you. :D Hows the getting deep thing going?
On the heigt thing, yer you may find that he jumps better at a bigger height so he may be worth skipping the 80cm, or you may find he needs a warm up round to get going bit of trial and error but as above if your doing well in th 90cm classes it will be worth doing 90cm and a 1m class. Then you can use the 90cm as a warm up. Well done though. :)
