My 16.3 thoroughbredxClysdale has very itchy skin, not just her mane and tail but the whole of her body, I have looked into D-Itch and Skratch plus but not sure which would be best if any !!! ... Any Ideas ??

Please see your vet about this, my vet has recently perscribed medication for my very itchy horse, it is not expensive.

Thank you might try that as she is itchy all the year round to the point of destroying the gate and her box !!!

If she's itchy all over and all the time I'd want to start by finding out if there was a specific reason for it. Skin scrapings, hair samples, blood tests, allergy tests etc. That degree of itchiness is unusual and there may well be a particular issue that needs to be addressed.

Yes she is itchy all over, anytime she can scratch she will no matter what I give her, the vets is coming out to assess her arthritis so I will ask him about this

Please see your vet about this, my vet has recently perscribed medication for my very itchy horse, it is not expensive.
I am interested in this - was it Cavalesse? I suppose it depends on the cause, mine definitely has an allergy to, or exacerbated by grass (he itches June - October and is much worse if he gets chance to fill his boots). Did your vet do any tests? And does it stop the itching totally?

What are you feeding? My girl can't have Alfalfa, molasses or Soya as they all make her itch.

It doesn't seem to matter what I feed her she is out at grass 24/7 at the moment and has been since may ....she will be coming in within the next few weeks but only at night then she has a veteran mix and chaff
