The subs for Cheshire Farmers Drag have been reduced to £50 for the rest of the year, with a cap on each day you turn out of £25. For those who don't usually hunt, this is VERY cheap

We have a ten hand Shetland, Blackie, (who is pure white

!) with us regularly, and those who want to go slowly or not jump will always have his company and a bunch of other people too. We have a quad bike or a Master "sweeper" so we never leave anyone behind

For those who like a good fast run and challenging hedges, we have those too

, with a variety of timber hunt fences at 2ft6 -3ft for the "in betweenies". We are a very friendly bunch and if you come on your own you'll soon be chatting to a number of new friends

If you haven't been out before, then your horse does not have to be superfit to drag hunt. Drag hunts have a run for a leg and then a decent rest and a chat while the next leg's scent is laid. We are usually out for around three and a half hours, a great Saturday afternoon's fun!

oooh it IS !!!

I'm training a baby at the moment and for the second week running we found one lovely encouraging shaped hedge that wasn't tooooooo big and popped it.
 
You don't need to know anyone SH-stud. I went along on my own last year and was welcomed by all the huntsmen in red coats and included in the social chat at checks by everyone. You can always introduce yourself to me, and I'll introduce you to the others. We are all ages and sizes, from an eight year old on a 25 year old Shetland, several teenagers (each on their own) and a whole hotch-potch of novice and experienced riders on novice and experienced horses. Just PM me if you plan to come out and I'll look out for you.

When your horse can do an hour's hack with a couple of canters without any trouble, he's fit enough as long as you don't expect him to be at the front jumping all the hedges.

Once you've been once you'll want to go again!
 
thanks cptrayes, that sounds great, will defo pm you when horse a little fitter, hes a nice novice event horse so should be able to have soon fun on him, I did have a few days with the Wynnstay over the last few years when I lived up Malpas way, great country but it was quite hard to socialise or chat unless you were born and bred into the hunt community. I will be in touch, thanks for the info.x
