Firsly I would like to say a BIG thank-you to the people @ Ecceshall Country Show in Staffordshire today that helped my horse when he got stuck between the front ramp and the roof of the trailer.
We have no idea why he managed to try and escape through the top opening of the side ramp..........possibly something scared him but he has never done anything like this before.
Bacically he had his head, neck and front legs over the ramp and he was still tied up and was straddling over the front breastbar, he never panicked and allowed myself and a group of very calm people to free him with minimal injury......two very small scrapes.
We managed to release the partitions in the trailer, untie him and push his legs and head back over the ramp, he then just walked off the trailer as if nothing had happened and proceeded to graze..........
I just want to add he is a 16:3hh Warmblood.........when I look at the gap I have NO IDEA how he has managed to do this but thank god that he was wearing travel boots and a rug!!!
Anyway as he trotted up sound and with no 'war wounds' we still jumped the little SJ'ing class and got a clear - only his second show
When it was time to leave the show he loaded 1st time and travelled home as if nothing has happened!!
So thanks again to the lovely people that assisted me and if anyone on this forum knows any of them - please pass on my thanks.
