Very odd phonecall...how did this happen?!

I have just had a phone call asking about a Belgian WB mare I apparently have for sale, now this time last year I had a Belgian WB mare for sale, but funnily enough she was sold a year ago! I asked where the caller had seen her advertised and she said Horse Buyer Magazine, Jan/Feb 2008

I never advertised Rio in this magazine so how on earth did they get my details?! I suppose I had better expect more calls now, as magazine is just out apparently. I am not very impressed, but also slightly confused. I advertised her last year in horse deals, but never used this magazine before

Maybe they would like a 2 yr old colt instead?!

How bizzare. If i was you id go and look at the magazine and see if it is actually there. Maybe they had an old copy and got a bit confused...

cant see the ads online, but will try and find a magazine to look at. If it was horse deals then I would think maybe they had reprinted it by mistake but 'Horse Buyer' never had my details in the first place

would phone the mag sound like its a new mag thats trying to fill spaces till they get more customers, so our getting ads from somewhere

i had a call when selling millie, asking if the would let me put her ad in their magazine...hmm lol and they had found my number in horsedeals.

def if you dont want your horse advertised... good if they ask you not so good if they dont... there is prob a law against it somewhere if they have used your details without your permission.

It is a bit odd, however as you can advertise for free it will appeal to a lot of people.

I agree though for quality you can't beat Horse Deals.

Because it's a new mag they 'borrow' adverts from other magazine titles to get the advertising side going.

There is such a magazine called Horse buyer, just did a search, when I was selling my horse I got a call from Horse Deals asking if I wanted to advertise with them, they scan all the adverts and cold sell.
