Well... won't recap but most of you know I've had some fun with 'The Boy' lately, he's really settled down, and almost a new horse! now wanting to be led, not leading us everywhere - literally!! Ayway, I've been taking him back to almost basics, alot of ground work, lunging long-lining etc, which he's really enjoying - been ridden a couple o times and again loving doing something - so... last night - I decided to lunge him with a jockey... looked around... nope, wouldn't be right to stick either 10YO daughter or 4YO son on... and then... y eyes lighted on my vely, reluctant, non-horsey 6ft3 huby... aha! thinks moi! So... hat goes on, gloves got squeezed into.. and up goes hubby! Bear in mind his limit is he can change a rug etc... so.. lunged him for 10min, he's got a digustingly natural seat/hands etc, makes me really rather sick
then he decides, he wants to go alone! so... I thought, ok... I'll walk with him etc... but no. off he oes - only in walk... lovely lovely circlework, serpentines, FO8's etc, P in a lovely outline, OH loving himself... I fel sick as a parrot! Even in walk it took me a good while to get to the standard he was riding at!! But very proud of both my boys! I suspect he might be wanting to do it again! Will need longer leathers and to swap irons first, but P obviously very proud of taking his Daddy round safely! Even my daughter was stunned!! It usually takes me at the very least a broken bone for him to go to the yard to do anything! Converted? hmm... doubt it - but you never know! Sick to the back teeth of how natural he proved to be
