A bit of a pointless post really!
Took my new one (well 4months now but still feels new!) to the beach for the first time on Saturday. It was also my first time taking her anywhere since now she is fit enough and the weather is all good
Well I got her off the trailer after a 50min drive and she was quite on her toes and I thought today could be interesting! Got my friends horse out (her bessy mate (ex race horse)) of the trailer and she was nice and calm luckily! As soon as we got the hay tied up she completely chilled and was just having a nose about.
Anyway tacked up and hoped on and she really suprised me, literally buckle end walk whilst she was checking out the dog walkers and grannies in their cars! We then started trotting around and once warmed up had some really controlled comfy canters, no silly spooking or pulling me about! Very happy mum now! Just had her in the usual NS Tranz angle lozenge and had plenty of control and towards the end we let them set the pace of the canter.....that was fun! My dad could here us from about a mile away down the beach and they did take some time slowing down but nothing naughty just enjoying themselves.
Once cooled down got her all ready to go home and she just plodded up the ramp like it was nothing and was so quiet all the way home! I couldn't have asked for better! Just hope she is like that the second time we go!!
Banoffee pie for all that read this!
