just a quicky, as i'm starving and need my dinner.
background: raff broke his radius (top of leg) 8 weeks ago. had 7 weeks being cross tied. angelic. then untied a week ago. cue crazed monster. tried leading him out in hand (vet's advice) and it was totally dangerous. he exploded.
vet came and gave him 2 week sedation jab. didn't even touch the sides.
vet today said we could risk turning him out (i know raff, and know that's what he needed). it was a risk but as the vet said, even being in the stable was a risk now as he was just not himself at all, and i couldn't even muck him out safely.
anyway... a bit of sedalin, a couple of lunge lines and two brave (lovely) people later... he is in a very small turnout area (about twice the size of a stable) and has his head down, grazing. he's said hello to the horses over the fence, and stood enjoying the wind in his face/sun on his back for a while... he's completely settled... and already the old, lovely, sweet, adorable Raff is back.
i heart my raff.
