I had been dreading today since the decision was made last week to have my wonderful Flying Harmony put to sleep. She had navicular which had become really bad in the last 5 weeks resulting in xrays/box rest etc. Throughout it all she behaved with her usual exceptional tolerance and good humour, she never complained about being stuck in by herself and kept herself busy scoffing and scrounging food off anyone she could!
I had her for 6 years, in which she taught me everything i know and how to truly ride, she was such a generous, loving, kind horse who was a true pleasure to 'own', and the biggest cheekiest character you could ever imagine!
It was the hardest decision I have ever made but i knew only one i could make and one that was in her best interest.
She was not only my horse but my totally loyal best friend who trusted me unquestionably, even when i got it wrong! I jumped things i never imagined possible, she was a crazy big black yampo who jogged and passaged around like a nutter but who never made be feel unsafe. we had an understanding! She truly loved life, and a 5* one she had with me, she wanted for nothing.
Rest in peace my beautiful big black mare you will never ever be forgotten and i could only ever dream to own another horse half as good as you. I pray you are galloping free in heaven...no doubt inbetween stuffing your face if you can manage anything else to eat after this morning!...Fly the horse that loved kisses and ate everything, including coats and mane and tail conditioner! Words cannot describe how wonderful you were.
Love you always Fly, your very very proud mummy and your best friends Kitty,Daisy,Flipper x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
Thank you to my amazing boyfriend for the support, tears and my amazing present i will treasure.
