It is with great sadness that I post this message.

A friend of ours, Helen Ross, from County Down, Northern Ireland, was tragically killed on Saturday 27th December 2008 in a riding accident.

Our condolences go out to her parents and sisters at this awful time.

Rest in peace Helen.

A lovely, beautiful, talented rider. I had the priviledge to meet her once. A sad loss to the equestrian world. RIP Helen.

Thoughts to all who knew her. x

Helen was a popular, keen and respected member of our Riding Club, a very good rider and a lovely person, always smiling. She was always up for a challenge or for a bit of fun. We are all stunned by her tragic death. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I extend my sincere condolences to her family. RIP Helen

Just to add to the heart felt comments that have already been made about Helen. I had the privilege to know Helen for the past number of years through the Riding Club and the Showjumping Association. Helen was always so brilliantly turned out for all occasions and would always give advice on jumping the course, dealing with moody mares and giving you a good jolly up just when you needed it most. I will miss her dreadfully as I looked to her as a mentor, although she was such a modest and honest kind of a person, she would only have been embarrassed to acknowledge this. All the comments made are so true of Helen and the person she was. My thoughts are with her family and hope that the kind words may go some way to alleviate even a little of their sorrow.

Thanks for the friendship Helen, I will think of you eveytime the arena bell rings.

On Behalf on Nicola and Raymond

Deeply regretted by Nicola and Raymond. A true friend that you only get one chance to meet in a lifetime. Taken so suddendly without our goodbyes. Sleep tight Helen, you will never be forgotten.

Over the last few years, Helen and I grew very close - we shared a lot of laughter and a lot of tears. My life is richer for having known her. I can’t believe she's gone and I miss her dearly. Life will never be the same without her. Helen was a talented and brave rider who was always there to offer help in any way she could. I have to thank Helen for my horse and dog who are precious to me, because without her I would not have either of them. Rest in peace my beautiful friend, I will never forget you.

Helens sudden death was such a shock to all who knew her. We are all only starting to come to terms with it.

Helen was such a lovely unassuming girl who was eager to please everyone, very capable and knowledgeable around horses, even young ones. If Helen was helping you with the horses she was always one step ahead and ready to hand you what you needed before you asked for it.

The yard has been so quiet since you left, no longer the cheery toot as you drove away.

Helen broke her heart when she lost her terrier Connie, but now think of them, once again, enjoying their walks together.

Our deepest sympathies go to Helen’s mum, dad, sisters and all the family.

Fondly remembered and sincerely missed by David & Charlotte
