I posted on Monday that my sisters big mare had a rectal prolapse, this was repaired and she seemed to pick up. She hasn't been drinking as well as usual and only eating about 1/3 of her hay, although she has been eating hard feed.

This morning she was totally uncordinated and had not drunk all night, when I gave her a fresh bucket she dropped her head in but was unable to drink, we called the vet who could offer no explanation or hope. We called the knackers out and our beautiful kind natured Pearl was allowed to leave us at lunch time today, she will always be remembered and very sadly missed.

So sorry to hear this........you did all that could have been done, including making the right decision for her at the end.

RIP Pearl.......you were loved so very much.
