Very sick Riley... Thoughts please

Thought i'd pop on here quickly to share a pic of my boy. He had fish & chips (suddenly he has a HUGE appetite!!) and was even feeling well enough to do "paws" - bless him! He is skin and bone, the pic doesnt show that at all!! But, he is much better than i was expecting for sure. Fingers crossed he might be able to stay home. He seems so happy to be here!!

My friends old dog had her spleen taken out, she's 15 now, 12 then. Granted it wasn't malignant. My Setter has been seriously I'll in her life, meningitis, and has no immune system, so whe she is I'll, she's at the vet! Try taking some fresh cooked warm turkey/chicken in (I say turkey coz it's cheap and the legs are huge) my setter eats it every time, even after bloat with a 360oC torsion. Hope he pulls through. Loads of hugs. XXX
 
Bless him...go Riley!! He almost seems to be saying "please don't make me go back. I no like it there"!! Me and mine keeping everything crossed for him. J x
 
What a lovely picture:) ((hugs)) to Riley. I hope he comes right for you. Whatever happens he looks so much happier so I guess you will be too:)

I hope he continues to make good progrees, and I'm sending some more <<<<<vibes>>>>> to help him along a wee bit!

Glad to see him looking happier, fingers crossed for him.

When our old lab went through a bad spell the vets wanted to keep her in so they could give her regular morphine doses, she made such a fuss, howling and barking the place down 3hrs later we had a phone call asking us to come and take her home!! Maybe a word in rileys ear to do the same so you can keep him at home!!
 
Hi there,

Unfortunately we had to have Riley pts in the early hours of this morning. The vet believes the cancer spread into his brain, he went into a very bad seizure and was already showing symptoms of serious brain trauma so I made the decision to let him go rather than try to bring him out of it. The hardest decision I've ever made after all he bravely fought through the last two weeks, but I think it was the right decision, the vets said he'd have had serious brain damage after the seizure :(

I'm just thankful he had a whole week at home with his family, calm, happy and relaxed. I took all last week off work to spend with him and I'm so glad I did now.

Thank you for all the kind words and thoughts for my brave boy. I know he appreciated it. When I'm feeling a little less liuke bursting into tears at the thought of seeing them, I'll share some of the special photos from my boys last week with us.

Bless you all. He came home and as you said you were able to spend the week together. Everything you have done has been the right thing to do. Take comfort in the fact you had each other at the end and he was in his home with the people he loved for his last few days. RIP Riley and big hugs to you xx

So sorry to hear this, thinking of you xx I lost my little Nippy to a similiar illness and it is heartbreaking xx
