My boy was jumped yesterday and has a swollen knee this morning. A little heat in it but trotted up completely sound. Going to cold hose it and turn out as normal and then check later. Will call vet if no better tomorrow morning. Might stick magnetic wrap over it tonight.

Anything else I should do? Or should I call vet asap?

My mare has just come off 6 weeks box rest after banging her knee jumping. We had scans etc to check no bone or ligament damage, We kept a pressure bandage on it 24/7 for the 6 weeks and cold hosed twice daily.
But I would get the vet tomorrow, prob not worth a Sunday call out!

He didn't bang his knee or anything, knocked one pole but that was with his hind foot. It's weird because I can't think of anything he'd have done to cause the fluid. It's like a big pocket of fluid right at the front of the knee, a little heat in it, but no heat or swelling aorund the sides or back of the knee. Very squishy to touch and he is not bothered by it in the slightest. Have cold hosed it twice already, he is out to keep him moving to try and shift the fluid.

If anyone can help I'd be very grateful - vet came yesterday and wasn't overly concerned as flexion normal and completely sound. Swelling is odd in that there is a ball of fluid over the top of the knee cap and then the sheath above is swollen, so there are two "balls" of swelling. Vet advised light exercise and magnetic wraps overnight on knee. It's not going down at all, but also not getting large and the swelling is not moving. I just don't feel 100% about it
