Very thin rug liner? Do they exist?

The snuggy hoods one looks ideal; it's thin, and has no front buckle straps which is perfect....but it's £25 - was hoping for something cheaper!

If anyone knows of anything, please share!

A decent second hand fleece? Weatherbeeta ones seem not to slide back as much as most when used as an under rug. Failing that i dont think you will find much for less than £25 unfortunatly.

I can recommend the Snuggyhood silk petticoat liners. I've got x2 for my mare and although they are expensive, they wash and dry quickly and should last a while. There's nothing cheaper out there. I know, I looked! Not unless you can find a second hand lycra body rug or are happy to use an old summer sheet or cooler?

Not sure if it's what you are looking for but the Amigo Mio stable sheet? Can usaully get them relatively cheap from sales etc.

Sorry to but in ! Spyda does the snugly hoods have a fastening at the front or do you have to put it over the horses head ? I would like to get one for my mare but she has the snugly jams but has only used once as she hates having it over her head !!

I've a couple of the PE liners (100g) that I use. I wouldn't use a fleece under a rug as they will stretch out and will pull back on their shoulders. A cotton sheet with zero stretch would be better.

Hi, I've got the snuggyjams too and although the silky petticoat liner doesn't have a front fastening, because it's not got the belly wrap and is very light weight material, you can manipulate it so that the neck section you need to put up and over your horse's head really isn't any more disturbing than putting a martingale over your horse's head when you're tacking up. Assuming yours would tolerate that? Once over the head the rug can be pulled round and pulled into position down the body.

PS: I've got an Equi-Theme Boett type fly rug I bought in the summer that I haven't been able to use as it's supposed to be pulled over the horse's head and neck. Yeah, right  But the silky petticoat liner isn't a problem at all.
