I am gutted and in tears now the decision has been made.

I have a new job and just haven't got the time to bring Blue on this year. He needs bringing on with a view to backing him later this year or sometime next year and I just haven't got the time. I have tried to find a loan home for him, but I didn't have one reply, although an unbroken rising 3 Fell pony probably isn't what people are looking for from a loan horse.

I am sort of hoping no one answers the ads, then I can keep him, but I know it will be better for him to start work - he is getting bored and gets up to mischief when he is bored.

:( :( :(

Can you not wait a little while? It would not hurt him to have another year unbacked and I know we think they get bored but do they really?? I think like you then look at all the ferral ponies on the NF or Exmoor and they don't look bored! So long as he has either 24/7 turnout or long turnout I am sure he would be fine.....

Oh, what a difficult decision for you but you know in your heart what is best for Blue and if you feel finding him a home who will address his needs now is the right course then I commend you for loving him enough to let him go.

Whilst it would be perfectly acceptable to turn him away for another year you will be in this position next year and who knows what your personal circumstances may be.
