Due to the snow and having nothing to do, and hopefully a future move, we had a massive clear out of my parents wardrobe today, in a bag chucked in the corner we found over 30 rosettes.
They date from between 1969 to 1989, and include 1sts and Champions from HOYS, RIHS, Royal Windsor, The Royal Show and The All England Jumping Course.
Only a few have names on the back but they are all from horses owned by my Mum and either ridden by her or my Aunt, and Mum can remember most of the rest.
Does anyone know if they would ever be of any value? or just interest to any one? although obviously they are of tremendous sentimental value to me and Mum.
Just random very bored musings really.

There are a few pics in this album of some of them.

Marymoo - definitely ebay! I cleared out the attic a couple of years ago, where I had about 700 rosettes stored in bin liners. After much soul searching I went through them all, picked out about 100 that were particularly special to me and put the rest on ebay in batches. Some of the "better" ones - champs, reserves and those from prestigious venues really did fetch quite a bit - I was surprised!

TBH I think we will keep them, I may put them up in the tack room rather than squashed in a carrier bag.

The HOYS Champions were Gems Signet in 1971, 14.2hh SP owned by my Mum (Miss A Sangan at the time) and ridden by my Aunt (Sophie Waddilove)
and Brewster won the Light Weight Hunters and was reserve Champion in 1982 ridden by Robert Oliver and owned by Mum.

God, I remember those! Don't sell these - they are very special! I kept all my very special ones and just sold the ones that were more "ordinary" as I knew they'd just be humped from house to house in the bin liners for the rest of my life. If you do sell them, I'd be interested in the showing ones - I remember Gem's Signet especially as I did a lot of showing in my childhood. How cool!

I remember Gem's Signet and I remember Sophie Waddilove, does she still judge, I remember seeing her judging the hunters at Heathfield one year.

No she doesnt judge any more, but only given up in the last few years.
I find it really amazing how many people remember him, I would love one of mine to be remembered like that!

From events of that level, definitely keep them

Definitely keep them, they must evoke such magical memories and represent the ultimate in the show world. I also remember Gem's Signet having shown all my life. I still have my first rosette, won in 1960! Plus all the others won since then, great memories of all my lovely horses. I have a couple from Royal International but still not acheived my ultimate ambition of a rosette at HOYS although I have qualified a few times.
