.

Only use them around the yard, if in the summer they get hot we just put one of those on and a light weight turn out to dry them off, whereas a woolen cooler rug would be too hot.

I think they still have a use, altho mine is the amigo mesh sheet, so a little less rab c nesbit... the shires/masta ones with the fleece sine part are great too.

I think Ive still got one or maybe two but rarely use them as I have a thermatex. However I do find the Thermatex quite hot for travelling which I never found with the sweat rug and summer sheet.

I still see people useing them - allways incorrectly!! So they may as well not use them.

By this, I presume you mean on their own? My sharer won't use it with another sheet/thatch whereas I always thought that the purpose was to provide pockets of air that keep warm. Can I now tell her I was right?!

Yes I quite often put mine under a rug if we get soaked when riding. I mainly use it in the winter when its too cold to leave him to dry in a fleece. I do remove it once he is dry and change his rugs over though.

Absolutely. They are designed to be used underneath a cotton sheet. To use one without renders them useless.

I may have a couple lying about. If they haven't been burnt you are welcome to them, let me know if it was pony or horse and I will dig into the deeper corners of the junk cupboard.
