Has anyone got any experience of vestibular syndrome in their dog ? My dog has had this for 4 days and any experiences good or bad would be much appreciated as I try to reach a decision on what to do ?
My old boy had it a few weeks ago. He was much better within 24 hours and almost back to normal in 48
Sadly I lost him to old age recently.
I Was told that if they are going to re cover you usually see a Improvement in 48 hours.
First attack my dog had was relieved very quickly by the pills from the vet (can't remember currently what they were but they were given with an anti emetic), he then recovered totally. Then he had 2 attacks very close to each other, and each one was worse than the one previous, with less relief from the drugs. Because of his age we put him to sleep as he was just in constant suffering and wasn't getting better towards the end.
This is what I lost my old dog too, she all of a sudden developed it, drugs didn't work and each daily attack got worse, so I had her put to sleep she was an elderly dog too.
