to see Bug, hope it's nothing serious. :(

I just know the shoe will be coming off.......then i'll have to get the farrier out to put it back on........why does the lameness always happen when you have a few full weekends planned.

She has 2 and a half weeks to get better.......So lots of get well vibes for Lady Bug please. :D

Tell me about it, think i might just wrap her in bubble wrap and lock her in a padded cell and just look at her!!!!!!

What's strange is she normally blows up at the slightest nick, but not lame.....this time lame, but no heat or swelling.
Not being helpful this time round.

Hope it's not serious she is only three, her career has only just begun, if she had waited month she is due to be turned away for the winter.

Good Idea at least she can never hurt herself :p Mmmm not making it easy for you then, when my welsh goes lame he never has heat or swelling so it always hard on him to pin point the right area.

Awwwww bless her, they always seem to have problems with them and always at the wrong time!! x

Right, got to yard.....Bug cantered over, lame.......she spooked jumped on my foot...ouch!!!!
Limped in from field like her leg was going to drop off....picked her feet out etc.... vet phones can't make it until four......aaagggghhhh!!!!....took her back out to field, not so bad on her leg and then galloped up the field with Prince......

Result.....lame horse.....not so lame horse, don't have any more of an idea than before but now i'm lame and hobbling.....went to do her from work so had the wrong shoes on now paying for it........can the day get any worse!!!!!!

Could it be a splint forming (you didn't say fore or rear unless I missed it) or could she have tweaked something? If she's only three her frame and system are still growing so very suspect to growing pains if pushed too early. Let us know what happens.

It's her near fore.....sorry didn't mention it......
Not a splint, no heat and have checked her legs all over and inside out.
She hasn't been pushed at all....she is an ex racehorse and been out of racing for a year now, just hacking out the odd in hand show....nothing like she would have been doing if any good at racing!!!!
She is only ridden about three times a week, mainly walking with the odd trot and canter on softer ground, had her knees checked her growth plates have fused, bred to grow fast as a 2yr old flat racer.....not pushing her hard hense the winter off. :D
Work starts next year.

Well vet came at half four in the end.........
I told her i thought it might be an abcess coming up on the inside of her near fore, and she agreed with me, but there isn't enough of a response to the hoof testers to pin point the point of pain, even though she is hopping. :(

Shoe left on for now as she is a wimp with out them, have to carry on poulticing for another three days and see if she fights it off before it gets bad or she'll be on three legs in which case, we should be able to locate it and get rid of the problem. so for now she is still cantering around her field bucking (on one leg, she almost fell over), with a nice silver covered foot......:)

Will keep you informed of the progress.

Oh my foot however still really hurts, i can pin point that as I have a huge shoe shape planted in it. :o
