I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but when Oscar got himself hooked up on the fence his skin was pulled away from the muscle at the side of his sheath where the actual wound is :( and there was a massive air pocket there so when he was stitched up the vet put a drain in. i took him today to get the drain taken out but she said to leave it til Monday because there was still more fluid than she wanted to see there. Anyway I commented that the skin where the air pocket was is all crackly like there is still air there and she said not to be concerned about it but tonight I've noticed when stroking him that his back feel crackly too and there looks to be a noticeable sized air bubble under his skin just above the base of his tail :(

Is this ok or do I need to get him back to the vet before Monday? Please tell me the drain won't allow air to siphon in and I'll have a bubble dog by morning  :( :(

I'd ring your vet and ask him/her for some advice - poor Oscar, greyhounds never do things by half do they :( The greyhound girlies send 'get well soon' vibes his way :)

It sounds like some mild subcutaneous emphysema.

He should be fine and it should sort it self out eventually its pretty common in dogs who have trauma like he has.

Thanks for the reassurance :) It feels about the same this morning but he is a bit happier now and back to cocking his leg again so it can't be too painful
