Day 9 of twigs 6 week box rest and we have had vet out again. Shes in for upper suspensory injury being treated with adequan, box rest, bute and tensolvet gel.
Anyway.....it was only yesterday I commented on how pleased I am with her leg. Icy cold, rock hard and in all ways generally perfect. After throwing her hog out the first two days (handstands in the box!) twig has really settled down.
Much to my horror this morning er leg was up. All puffy down the inner aspect of her cannon bone and warm. Other leg, Icy cold and fine. Got vet out to come and have a look and the only thing she can think is its a reaction to the tensolvet gel. I'm more dubious as surely a reaction wouldnt take 9 days to appear?? Anyway, the plan is to bandage cold animalintex on tonight and clay tomorrow up until monday, if no better vet will come with the ultrasound again on monday and see if anything horrible is going on (as if this isnt horrible enough!!!
