Have my interview at Harper Adams for the MSc Vet Physio three weeks today and TERRIFIED. Anyone done this - any words of wisdom please!!!

As in, are you going for the job as a physio? If so then I have no real advice, but I am currently job hunting too and just had an interview today. Therefore I wish you luck! :D
My 'tips' would be:-
Make sure you have done you research on the role and the college
Have some good questions prepared
Take notes with you so you don't forget things you want to say.
Be yourself!!!

Good luck!

No specific advice for that course but agree with commnets above. Also for any interview you go for:
- Be prepared. Know about the organisation and why you want the job/course. If possible find out who will be interviewing you (most places will tell you if you call up) and find out about them and what are there specific areas of interest.
- Be on time, polite and very smartly turned out.
- Show an interest all the way through the interview, even if you don't think it is going well
- Be prepared to tell them why you are great! It can be a bit odd as most of us don't do that very often so maybe practice at home. In fact doing a practice interview with a friend/relative can be a greta way of getting the nerves out of the way and getting a more polished performance on the day
- Think about what on your CV they may ask you about. Have answered lined up, expecially if there are any 'tricky' areas

Most of all I think it is important that you show a genuine interest in the course/jpb and organisation. Don't be afraid to admit to weaknesses but do be prepared to explain how you are/plan to address them.

Good luck.

Good for you. Just think you are already on the front foot as the interviewers will no doubt be impressed that you bothered to call out and find out who they were in advance.

So you think I should let them know at the interview that I've been "stalking" them (LOL), as it was the course admin lady I spoke to who told me their names and assuming she doesnt tell them...do I just talk about stuff they do research in "spontaneously" or let them know I know about them?

Try to stay calm!

This way you will be able to give more considered answers to any questions and hopefully give a good picture of yourself, your personality etc.
I know when I have been interviewing, some poor interviewees have been so nervous they could barely think straight or give you a feel of who they are and I am no dragon.

I imagine they will be looking for someone who gets on well with a range of people, a good communicator as well as someone who is able to learn to a high standard.

Even if some of the Q's are tough they will be willing you on to give good answers!

Good Luck! Keep us posted.

I had an interview for Bsc Biovet Science there back in december. the interview was really relaxed and basically once you get an interview you've already got a place :D I completely messed up my interview and still got an offer! I had flu so had taken codine/paracetamol as well as having red bull to keep me awake, when they asked me questions I pretty much answered nothing to do with what they wanted!
It's really chilled. If you want any more advice then just PM me x:D

Stroppy Mare - the Harper Adams course is accredited by the NAVP rather than ACPAT. It is also a masters degree but you usually need an undergrad degree in animal or equine rather than human physio for the HA course.

I would think it is very likely that they will be told that you called up - that is what happens where we work anyway. I wouldn't particularly mention it, but obviously don't deny it either if it comes up.

Have pm'd you and thank you all for your help, will let you know how it went.

I second kajabe's comment, I had an interview for biovet science last year at Harper and it was relaxed, although I did make sure I'd done research before hand so I had some possible answers to the questions asked :)

Hello all. I appreciate that this is a pretty old thread now but I have my vet physio interview in just over 2 weeks (MSc, Harper Adams) and would really appreciate any hints or tips not already on here. Can anyone tell me if there are technical/academic questions or if it is more based on your experience and why you are applying?

Thanks!
