Vet recommendation - horse near jedburgh

I have seen a nice little horse in jedburgh that might suit us really well - can anybody recommend a local vet that would do a good job without costing the earth? He is cleanlimbed and a straight mover with nothing obviously wrong but I want the peace of mind that a vetting gives you ( and a reduced insurance bill!) many thanks!

My friend uses Merlin vets, they are based in kelso but I think they also have another branch. Have heard good things about them. Sorry can't do a link as on my phone
