Vet refferal for rehab livery thats covered by insurance!!

Found out something interesting today.

It appears that rehabilitation livery is covered by insurance! Did anyone else know that? My boy is in for x-rays tomorrow (fingers crossed not kissing spines) and im hoping for a referral for rehab livery.

Something I wasnt previously aware of!

Its something our Vets at our practice say as they struggle with them majority of the time and now inform clients that are about to sign up with them to be very wary as we cant get them to pay out either!!

They are awful but they manage to sucker people in with their cheap policies, our vets now insist that anyone insured with them fork out for their bills themselves and fight with E&L to get it back. It took them 10 months to pay out on one of our claims - was only £500!

My insurance paid out for rehab when my youngster did a hind suspensory. He went to a professional yard with a horse walker as our yard didn't have one and he wasn't safe to be walked in hand. I think we were with NFU at the time.

I had to have my Mare destroyed because she was brain damaged after a colic but they refused to pay up because they had excluded colic's from my policy, I explained she didn't die from a colic, she died from brain damage but they refused to pay up until I started court proceedings, it took 17months to get the money but because the carcass had been disposed of (can you imagine keeping her body for 17 months!!!) they would only pay me 50% as they said the evidence had gone even though we had a second opinion from another practice before destroying her because my husband is a Vet and didn't want to look like he was doing an insurance fiddle so we asked for a second opinion ourselves.
