Miyaz had his yearly jab tonight and a check-up on how his post-keratoma foot is doing. He's happy with it and says he's happy for me to start riding him. :) :)

I always err on the pessimistic side, I've known too many horses go through months of rehab only for hopes of a happy ending to be dashed, but I have to admit, its looking good. Miyaz's feet are looking more like a pair, he turns on his bad foot fine and while he still points a bit, its getting less and less pronounced as time passes. The hole hasn't totally grown out yet but I think we're past the point of there being risks of problems due to foot weakness.

He's being shod again next week so I'll get his hinds on and some road studs and we'll be away, the vet said I was OK to bring him back to work the same way as any unfit horse, he doesn't need any special care because of his foot.

I can't quite believe it, its been four months since his op but he'd been not right for six months before that, now he might just be good as new, thanks to my great farrier, vet and surgeon.

That's great news! Looks like we'll both be riding our previuosly poorly horses this summer then! If the weather picks up that is! :)

Yay!!!!!!! That's fab news!!! Bet you can't wait now!!! Is this ridden work before turnout?? Beau's still on box rest with walking out in hand. We've been walking around the village now as fields are too wet he was very good bless him!! Have you got any up to date photos??
