As title really. I booked a vet come and visit my horse last week and made it as clear as possible he was not at the yard with strangles as I did not want him going there first. Gave receptionist contact numbers as well as the numbers she already has for vet to call when setting off. Vet turned up and sedated horse however, I got a text from lady who owns yard with strangles to say vet had been there first. Vet didn't mention this. He didn't touch any horses there just pulled into yard asked and then left.

Has the YM of the infected yard not put infection control procedures in place? When we had a single case on my old yard which was also a RS, the school stayed open but all clients were asked not to touch any other horse on the yard, we had a bucket of virkon E to dip boots in at the gate, no horse left the yard for 6 weeks and the infected mare was put into isolation of course. I tended to her at weekends and kept a particular set of overalls to wear when I did her then changed in order to handle anything else.
