My old chap who is now just 17 has been retired due to spine arthritis, suspensory damage etc etc......but is actually in fine fettle othewise. Living luxury life now, sound but not ridden.
My insurance renewal policy has just arrived, and, predictably has excluded ALL claims including 4 legs and his back. Not suprising, but it now seems cover is only available for accidental injury.
Is there ANY insurance company that offers a Veteran policy to cover accidental injury AND colic?? My boy is not at any more risk of colic than any other horse, ie NO history or past claim at all except for lameness.
I see little point in insuring for accident only (at £300+) and wonder if anyone can point me in the rigth direction as would hate to have to have him PTS if he got colic and I couldnt afford to treat.........Thanks!
