We have a lovely 17yo ridden shetland mare otherwise known as our Dogpony. She is our daughters' lead rein, and is ridden lightly a couple of times a week but otherwise is a companion to our friends event horse. Temperament to die for and as far as shetlands go has great feet etc.
She has been on no feed through the summer, just haylage when stabled in day, so now she is in at night, and still on no grass :0) as still has a good belly. Never had lami but we are always over cautious. The last couple of winters she has just had some hifilite with carrots apples and equivite. Really want her to stay in great health and not feel too hard done by, and wondered what you think feed wise.
