Veteran Showing Class- Correct Attire?

Pickle will be going showing for first time ever next month :)

I am pretty clueless so wanted to check attire!

Was planning on using brown flat cavesson hunter bridle, with pelham on 2 reins (he would be totally uncontrollable in open spaces in a snaffle!) and my brown GPS pro event (its either that or synthetic black dressage saddle)

As for me I currently only have black jacket which I get the feeling isn't correct, am going to Hickstead this week so if tweed is better could buy a jacket there :)

Any other tips much appreciated, just so glad I own a bay right now!
 
What type is pickle? you turn out to type. So by description of your tack I would say hunter or show hunter? how big is he/she?

Going by what you've said I would say tweed would be best. I'd probably go for a green tweed of some sort. You want shirt and tie, beige or yellowy jods (not bright canary!), gloves, a navy hat with a flesh coloured harness is best but any will do as long as silk or covering is plain navy, dark green or brown.

Horse needs to be plaited (not tail!) and most importantly enjoy yourself!

He is a 17.1hh clydesdale x, so quite a chunky boy, never knew not to plait tail!

If the class is affiliated to the VHS you have to display their age on a white disc on their bridle. Tweed is the most common jacket to wear I think.

I am total novice so do I have to display age if it says "This show is affiliated to the International Showing Society and are holding some qualifiers
for the Royal London Show 2010"

Will have dressage number with me whatever as was gonna do a test
