My aged Arab currently has the coat of a hill pony and I would love some advice on clipping an unridden horse.

She's living out with a rain sheet but is sweating in these muggy temperatures.*
I'm not sure about leaving her naked as there is little shelter in her field from the heavy rain we are having but wondered if giving her a small clip would make her more comfortable.
Has anyone else had the same problem that could give me some advice?*

Would a neck and belly clip be enough to cool her down?*

hi i clipped an oldie at our yard the other day for the same reasons, she was sweating naked in the stable and doesnt stay out at night so was an issue.
I gave her a bib and belly clip and she seems alot happier. just in rainsheet in day and then in at night either naked or with a thin sheet depending how stables are affected by weather
 
no problem. many people clip because they like the fact there horse looks nice but then some horses need clipping to allow them to be comfortable even when not working but remember it wont be long before this warm spell ends so you dont want to take too much off unless you can rug accordingly if a sudden temp drop occurs
 
Does your Arab have a full mane? We have been having really warm weather, my cob is fully clipped and only in a lightweight to keep the rain off. When it's not showering, he's sweating under his mane so I've been putting it in a close to the neck running plait! If I lived 'on site' I'd be running in and out to do rug on/rug off!
 
Unfortunately (Or maybe fortunately!) she skipped that gene and has a wispy mane and no forelock to speak of!

hahah Ive been saying that for the last week - such a shame she wont survive on the patio!

We are having the same dilemma and still haven't decided what to do about it!
I'm fed up of this unseasonable weather. Normally they would still be out now but are coming in because of the wet, so that the field doesn't get too churned up.
