if you HAVE to feed your dog an hour after you give your dog a tablet? Or is it more than you MUST leave the hour between giving the tablet and feeding your dog?

I usually only feed my lot once a day, in the evening, but Flick is on one tablet twice a day. Do I need to start giving her breakfast as well?

And does it have to be exactly an hour, or a minimum of an hour? Tonight I gave Flick her tablets then went out for a run so it was about an hour and a half before she was fed - is that OK?

I know I’m overthinking it but I want to make sure I get it right 😊 I did ring my vets to ask but the receptionist didn’t really answer my questions - she just kept saying I had to follow the instructions because that’s what they said!

Oh - it’s ok, should have done that first, I rang my mum and asked her 😂 having cavaliers she’s had quite a lot of experience of using Vetmedin 🙄

I have spent entirely too long cursing at drug data sheets this week. :p

Pharmacokinetic particulars

Absorption:
Following oral administration of Vetmedin capsules the absolute bio-availability of the active principle is 60 - 63%. Since this bio-availability is considerably reduced when pimobendan is administered with food or shortly thereafter, it is recommended to treat animals approximately 1 hour before feeding.

My little dog is o n this, I asked the same question of my vets last week , as it said an hour before meals and It was quite difficult getting the timing ! She said at least an hour otherwise it doesnt get absorbed properly and is not so effective.

Sorry should have not jumped a reply Black cob has answered the question !
