Hi , anyone any info on Vetrofen . My friend is wanting to try it , as it seems to be advertised everywhere and the best thing since sliced bread but she'd like to know why or if its any better than any of the others .We understand its a Bute-less product so we know why/how it works but I dont know anyone whos used it . So any info good or bad would be helpful .It's very expensive ( which is fine if it works ) but she may give it a go for a month and see how the horse does . The horse she thought had kissing spine but it turns out that he has a damaged ligament running down his back . He is ridable but only nice quiet hacking etc .Thoughts please.

I have a mare with arthritis in coffin joint and changes in the navicular bursae
I rang them up and had a long chat with the firm.
The problem for me is it can not be given with bute or danillon The horse has to be off these for 3 days before you can start vetrofen.
My horse is sound and comfortable for light schooling and light hacking on danillon and a joint supplement .
Because it took a while to get her settled I am reluctant to stop it all to change to vetrofen.
Maybe if the danillon and joint supplement stops giving relief I might give it a go but reluctant to rock the boat.
If you phone their help line you can chat to one of their people abot your horses individual problem
would be interested to know how people who use it are getting on.

Having checked out the ingredients they are willing to divulge Im sceptical, but then I doubt the efficacy of another of their products too.

Id like to see their research before coughing up cash when bute is perfectly acceptable.
