My traditional farrier has always been very approving of good feet and insisted that they shouldn't have shoes on all the time. His first question when there was a problem was always "what are you feeding?"
But I was very late to embrace the whole barefoot thing - there was so much to get my head around, and because I had been taught that shoeing was the correct thing to do, it took a bit of time to get it even halfway right.
I had to explore it fully - I needed proof in front of my own eyes
