I'm getting way ahead of myself but looking for recommendations for a 5 stage vetting in Leeds area. Hopefully have a choice of a couple before seeing who seller uses. Thanks

Ridings Equine cover most of Leeds and I believe do vettings. (But they are fairly popular so a high chance they’re likely to be the vendor’s vet)

There’s also Ledston Equine nr Castleford (but I’m not 100% sure they do vettings), Hird & Partners nr Shelf, Moorhouse / The Equine Veterinary Centre (based at Doncaster but I think bits of South Leeds are covered by them), Minster (based at York but again do come into Leeds area)

If Peter Schofield is able to do it from Hird and Partners, I would jump at him. He can see minute detail off a fuzzy video LOL.

My vets is Ridings. Since having them, I have been very satisfied. They are not part of a big chain and the vets seem able to be honest without worrying that someone is looking over their shoulders. They have more experienced and less experienced vets, and I don't know which one would be the lameness expert. I would call and Annabel usually answers, and she is a lovely person and would be able to tell you who the lameness expert is. Personally I would use them as they are also my continuing care vets and I trust them, but I know Peter has an amazing rep.

I have been with Minster and with Rainbow, and prefer Ridings to both (unless I needed a major operation, where I would ask for a referral to Rainbow as it is a bigger hospital).
