I am moving to oxford soon and wondered if anyone knew of any large animal/veterinary practices in oxford as I am wanted to send off cv's to see if I can train as a vet nurse or similar. Thanks

Not Oxford but probably only 40 min from Oxford is Baskerville, Horgan and Partners in Aylesbury. They have a very large equine and farm animal practice with operating theatres etc.

o'gormans is a good one...also there is another one in wantage but I cant remember the name..!!
have a look on the British vet nurse website and you have a list of all the practices in the area that offer training...
you can then write or ring them and see if there are any vacanices...
http://www.rcvs.org.uk/Shared_ASP_Files/...41E_2_s_eng.pdf
this should link you to all the practices in the south of england...but have a look as you can change the search....

hook norton is the one in banbury that does just equine practice...suggest getting trained in small animal first and then training in small animal as there are not as many equine vets as small animals....just to back yourself up...
any questions please ask...I trained for three yrs as a vet nurse in both practices...

Hook Norton - they do Farm, equine and small animal and have a couple of branch surgeries for the small animal stuff.
Baskerville, Horgan and Partners - I think they are now part of Hampden vets based in Aylesbury, they do small animal, farm and equine (as mentioned above).
Larkmead are in Cholsey - they do farm and small animal and a bit of equine, again they have branch surgeries for small animal stuff.
Lots of equine in Berks - Lambourn, Newbur etc. PM if you want more details of any of the vets in this area as I work with a lot of them!!!

Not in Oxford, but less than an hour away - Chiltern Equine Clinic in Bucks... I use them for my 2 and they're great, and a young team.
