Vets near Leeming/Scotch Corner?

Hmm, not sure i know of anyone that far up but there's Simon Stirk, he's near Ripon. Not sure how far that'd be. Can't think of any others any further up.

Thank you for that. Presumably that's Simon Stirk of Stirk and Associates. I think they merged with Minster Equine and have been recommended by someone else too. Cheers.

Oh, not sure if he's merged with Minster or not. When I worked in horse insurance he was our claims referral vet and I have met him ad he's ok - does a lot of work with racehorses so, if you used him as a vet for a 5 stage you'd have to make sure you told him exactly what you wanted the horse for. Our vet is Keith Hughes at Westwood vets in Boston Spa (near Wetherby). He is very good and does thorough 5 stages and he has horses himself so is pretty good at telling you whats what. Think he may cost a bit more though to send up to Scotch Corner though but personally I would pick him over Simon Stirk but that's probably more because I know him and trust him.

They did merge with Minster but Emily and Stewart are the main vets there now. Both absolutely fab. As others have said they are a specialist equine practice and work with a lot of racehorses.

They are based in Galphay and the number is 01765 690245.

Thanks again for the help. I moved from West Yorks last year where we had the superb assistance of Hird and Partners (can't speak highly enough of them which is why I will drop their names in). We now have the wonderful expertise of Cotts Farm Equine in West Wales. We have been blessed again! Clearly I can't send either to vet a horse for my brother who doesn't live in that area and is buying his first horse. He has been to see one up for sale with Stephen Place at Leeming Bar.
Anyway, thanks v much.
