Vets near Manchester

My vet's phoned last night to tell us that they are rationalising their practice and will no longer be treating horses... So has anyone got any recommendations for equine vets in the north-west, preferably within 30 miles of manchester?

There are a few vets, peter fenton equine vet, gillivers couple more aswell. i have peters number, will ask friend for gillivers but probs wont get it untill later, Peter is based in middleton, but prices are fair. xx
 
Thanks, much appreciated. I've not heard of either of them before. I'm hoping not to need the numbers until jabs are due in June, but I'd rather be organised.
 
Yeah well if you need the numbers just give me a pm and will happily give them to you, there are a few more but i have peter as he is fantastic with my horse, just gets the job done no messing,and is very reliable will ring you if hes going to be 10 mins late, and if they are going to come early they ring you to ask if thats ok.
 
My horse is kept in Tameside - it's the scrag ends of all the counties (lancs, cheshire and derbyshire) that none of them wanted to keep.
People at the yard use vets in waley bridge, sandbach and knutsford, so I was wondering if there were any a bit closer, just in case of an emergency call out.
 
Im with John Gillivers as i can hack down there for vaccinations ect if i need to
Only had my neddy since July but the times ive had them out/been to them theyve been really helpful

Theres Also Andrew Melling in Bolton

one of the liveries on my yard has someome from Tyldesley in the manchester area... think hes called Simon Constable
 
I am in Hyde Cheshire and can recommend Simon Constable. I signed on with them for both my horses. They are very helpful have 5 qualified equine vets, two or on call at night. If you need to ask advice you can give them a call.
 
My horses are kept in daisy nook, i know all them vets mentioned. have come across them in one way or another. peter fenton is from simon constables he went on his own and is fab. xxx
