My horse has had a foreign response reaction to a tiny, tiny foreign body on her hock. We tried 6 weeks box rest. Nothing. Vet is reluctant to cut it open before it abscesses as she doesn't think she'll be able to find it before it tries to work it's own way out.

The plan is to try working her and getting some ultrasound on it to try and break up the mass that has formed. Either to force her body to fix itself or to bring the situation to a head so it can be operated on.

Has anyone any experience of anything like this. I'm aware it's very specific!
