A friend had to have the vet out late last night as her mare went down with colic

It took him about 45mins to get there as our vets are based (I'm no good with distances) about 20 miles away, maybe more.
Luckily she is ok but was wondering are all your vets based near to your horses?

My vets is about the same distance away - 21 miles and about 40min if traffic is good.

Its not ideal if there was a major emergency, but they have been really good with everything that Bane has been through (!) and I really trust/value Jonathan Lee's opinion

Our vet is based roughly 15 Miles away, but then it also depends where they are on a call,,like today i had to wait for more than 3 hours because they had an emergency OP coming in,,,,,

My vets are... quite a while away. We live on an island so ferry adds time. Probaly 30mins or so to get here in good traffic, not sure though never had an emergency [touch wood]. The ferrys are very good though, when my mates horse shattered his shoulder the boat had broken down so there was a huge que of cars. But on the first boat back on they let the vet on fist, sadly the horse was PTS, RIP. But they are the closest vets that do equine so not much choice really.

Our vet is 20 miles away, call out fee is expensive, however worth it for good vet! But do find myself waiting for hours for them as they cover WIDE area!

I'm about three quarters of a mile from a specialist equine veterinary clinic, complete with MRI, Spa etc etc. Also one of the vets lives 4 doors down from me, my friend is a nurse there and another of my friends works there too.......as have had incredibly bad luck with horses in the last 2 years, am paranoid now about even moving house!!!!

My vets are about 15mins away in the lorry which is great, it would awful having to travel or wait for them to come out any longer then that.

They are also terrific vets, and wouldnt let anyone else near my horses nor value anybody else's opinion except my own vets

I thought you told us many times that you don't have any horses?? I'm confused; either you do have horses or you don't?

Our equine vet is almost forty miles away - but would never consider changing him. Normal time call out fee is £45.

My vet lives 45 mins drive away from me; about 50kms. I am pretty good on most things though and I have good stocks of veterinary supplies so can generally keep horses alive until he gets here.

I do have a practice about 3 minutes drive away from me and they have 6 useless vets, all claiming to be horse vets......pah! Wouldn't ever let them anywhere near any of my horses again...once was quite enough.
