I don’t like mondays

Hi, I posted yesterday on my other thread about a pony for my daughter failing a vetting and everyone agreed I should walk away. I’ve now had the report which isn’t as bad as I was lead to believe by the vet (I thought it was 3/10 on trot up). I still think it’s right to walk away (and I’ve requested deposit back), but would be interested in peoples thoughts as to how bad the vetting is to help me learn
background- pony is barefoot, ground was slightly stony in places (pony is also unfit/green/lacking in topline, not currently doing the job I intend which is kids pony hacking/low level PC, local shows). This is a low mileage pony so I’m thinking this lameness is a red flag- yes/no?
vet report said- Trot up straight line 1/10 right fore and 2/10 left hind (this was a road so wasn’t very stony)
flexion tests 3/10 both hinds- flexion tests are a bit controversial aren’t they?
Lunging on hard (this was a stony area) bi-laterally lame both hinds with mild stringhalt. On grass left hind 1/10 lame
I’ve already walked away, but want to learn what to look out for or be flexible about and what is a red flag.
This is the 2nd pony we’ve tried to buy that’s lame. 1st one was obviously lame (I spotted that so didn’t vet) but even my experienced friend missed the lameness with this one
Thank you
