Vettings- a couple of silly questions

Am having my potential new horse five stage vetted on Monday- pretty much all the vets round here won't come out at five PM or later (perfectly sensible of course, I wouldn't want to be working in the dark either! :D ) so we have scheduled to have one done during the day. This means I can't be there as I'll be at school, but my semi-horsey mum will be there to hear what the vet says (she has instructions to take notes if she hears something she doesn't understand!). I've never seen a vetting, as our old horse had recently passed one when we bought him, and the current one is just on loan from a friend so didn't bother. So a couple of (probably really stupid) questions.
- What exactly does it entail? (if anyone maybe has a link to a website or something if they CBA to explain that would be great? :) )
- How long does the actual vetting take? (obviously depends on how different vets work but still!)
- We're getting bloods done- how long might it be before we get those back? (again, I know above applies!)
Thanks!

if u google 5 stage vetting it will bring up what they are supposed to do. As far as I understand a 5 stage should last about an hour and a half, but I may be a bit out on that one. You also have to tell the vet you want the blood tested, otherwise they take it and just store it.

I have had them last anything from 40 mins to 2 hours, it really does depend!

Horse will be looked over, ridden, then looked over again. You need to ensure that there will be someone there to ride the horse and to trot it up.

As for bloods - they will be taken and stored. If something goes wrong (i.e. horse turns into a fruit loop/goes lame quickly/etc) then you request that the bloods are checked to discover if there was any dope/bute/etc present at time of vetting.
